Meet Barb…

Author, Speaker, Friend

Barb Sulfridge is an inspirational speaker who shares from an abundance of life experiences. She is known for her ability to captivate an audience through story-telling and humor.

She is a retired elementary school teacher with 24 years of experience in the classroom. Her favorite place to teach was in Lowman, Idaho's one-room schoolhouse.

Retirement has not slowed her down. Once a week, you will find her volunteering at The Grace Place, a local thrift shop, processing gently used children’s books.

She is also involved in Toastmasters, serving as VP of New Membership. She enjoys writing and presenting speeches, as well as encouraging timid speakers.

A year's fellowship with the Boise State Writing project solidified her desire to become better at crafting words and helping her students find their own voice in writing and speaking.

Her first book, ‘Pines in the Wasteland: A Story of Hope,’ a memoir, is due out soon. It recounts a nearly 40-year journey of learning to depend on God while life did not turn out as she hoped or planned.

She has a heart for widows and knows first-hand how difficult the adjustment can be into that new season of life. Barb advocates for Grief Share, a program to come alongside those who have lost loved ones.

A mother of two daughters, two sons-in-law, and "Grammy" to four, her family is her joy. Barb enjoys quilting and fabric art and lives for summer when she can hike and camp in the Pacific Northwest.
